About Us

Welcome!

My name is Naomi Ferstera and I am passionate about food and fitness for everybody and every body (see what I’ve done there?). I know how hard it can be to get the right balance between eating well and exercising, but I’m here to reassure you it can be done and I know you can do it! I’ve gained a lot of experience from running a business while looking after a family (including four kids!), so I hear you. I get the challenges. I’ve walked in your shoes.

Where did it all begin?

I started working as a personal trainer at the ripe old age of 18, and that is where my passion for health and fitness took off. Since then I’ve worked with thousands of women and men to help them achieve their health and fitness goals.  After years of work and study, always focussing on health and fitness, I finally set up my own business in 2012 after the birth of my twin daughters. I’m so fortunate that it’s allowed me to create a work life balance where I can be present as a mum but also get to work with amazing people like you, who are committed to achieving your health and fitness goals.

In 2012, I also discovered low carb healthy fat (LCHF) and it completely changed my life. I realised that you can eat delicious food and be healthy at the same time. I did 12 months of research into LCHF before launching the Eat Fat Get Fit Program with my sister Rachel (who does so much of the behind the scenes work). The program combines LCHF, intermittent fasting, high intensity training and education about the how and the why.

What is my health and fitness philosophy?

My personal philosophy is that there are many paths to good health. I take a very flexible approach to LCHF and still include all the foods I love, just less frequently. I also include intermittent fasting in my weekly routine and I lift weights and do HIIT every week. It’s also important to recognise that what works well for me won’t necessarily work for everyone and it’s really important to take an individual approach to health and fitness.

Am I qualified?

I’m an accredited Exercise Physiologist, Exercise Scientist, lecturer and Nutritionist. I completed a dual degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology and Education in 2008 and just recently completed my post graduate studies in Nutrition through Deakin University. I will be embarking on my PhD pathway in 2020 where I will be researching the association of body composition, myokine action, with dementia.
